Overview:
The Global Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies (GJMS) welcomes original, unpublished manuscripts that advance empirical and theoretical understanding of positive psychology, mental health, and counselling. All submissions are assessed based on scientific rigour, originality, and relevance to our readership.
We publish work addressing a wide range of topics within arts and humanities, business and management, health sciences, life sciences, sciences and engineering, and social sciences. Contributions from diverse cultural and professional contexts are particularly encouraged.

Research Articles:
Reports of original empirical studies using quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods. Must include clearly stated research objectives or hypotheses, methodology, results, and discussion sections. Statistical analysis should be reported in full.
Review Articles:
Critical and systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and integrative literature reviews. Authors should clearly articulate the review methodology, search strategy, and inclusion/exclusion criteria. Reviews that propose new theoretical frameworks or have clear implications for practice are especially welcome.
Invited Articles:
A small number of invited articles by leading researchers on a topical issue are published in each issue. These are accompanied by a short peer commentary from two or three invited respondents. Unsolicited manuscripts in this category are not accepted.
Manuscript Preparation:
Formatting Requirements:
- File format: Microsoft Word (docx) only – no PDF submissions
- Font: Times New Roman, 12pt throughout
- Line spacing: Double-spaced, including references
- Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides
- Page numbers: Bottom centre, from page 1
- Tables and figures: Embedded in text at the point of reference, with captions
Manuscript Structure:
Research articles should follow this structure:
- Title page – submitted separately (full author details, affiliations, corresponding author contact)
- Abstract – 200-250 words, structured: Background, Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusions
- Keywords – 4-8 keywords, not repeating words already in the title
- Introduction – background, rationale, and statement of objectives/hypotheses
- Methodology – design, participants, instruments, procedure, data analysis
- Results – statistical findings presented clearly; tables and figures as needed
- Discussion – interpretation, implications, limitations, and future research
- Conclusion
- References – APA 7th edition
Referencing:
All manuscripts must follow APA 7th Edition referencing style throughout – in-text citations and reference list. The reference list must be arranged alphabetically by first author’s surname and double-spaced.

Submission Process:
All manuscripts must be submitted through the online submission portal. Email submissions are not accepted.
- Create an Author Account
Register on the submission portal. Existing users should log in directly. Ensure your profile includes your full name, institutional affiliation, and ORCID iD (if available).
- Prepare Your Files
Upload a blinded manuscript file (.docx), a separate title page with full author details, and any supplementary materials. Figures must be submitted at minimum 300 DPI resolution.
- Complete the Submission Form
Enter your title, abstract, keywords, and article type. Suggest up to three potential reviewers (optional). Declare any conflicts of interest and confirm the originality statement.
- Submit & Track
A confirmation email is sent upon successful submission. You can track the status of your manuscript – Under Review, With Editor, Decision Sent – from your author dashboard at any time.
Peer Review:
The journal operates a rigorous double-blind peer review process. All submitted manuscripts are first assessed by the Editor-in-Chief for scope and quality. Those meeting the threshold are assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers.
- Initial editorial decision: within 1 week of submission
- External peer review: 2 to 3 weeks from assignment
- Possible outcomes: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, Reject
- Authors are notified by email when a decision is reached
- Revised manuscripts should be resubmitted within 1 week of the revision request
Reviewer Anonymity:
Neither authors nor reviewers are identified to one another at any stage of the review process. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise in the subject area of the manuscript.
Ethics & Originality:
Submission of a manuscript to this journal implies that the work has not been previously published, is not under consideration elsewhere, and that all co-authors have approved the submission. The journal takes research seriously and screens all submissions for plagiarism.
Ethical Approval:
All research involving human participants must have received ethical clearance from an appropriate institutional review board or ethics committee. The manuscript must state the name of the approving body and the approval reference number in the methodology section.
Plagiarism Policy:
Manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software prior to peer review. A similarity index above 20% will result in immediate rejection. Authors are expected to properly cite all sources and to have written the manuscript themselves.
Authorship:
All listed authors must have made a substantive contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the work. Guest authorship and ghost authorship are violations of publication ethics and will result in rejection.
After Acceptance:
Upon acceptance, the corresponding author will receive proof of the formatted article via email. Authors are expected to review the proof carefully and return corrections within 48 hours. Only typographical corrections are accepted at proof stage.
Article Processing Charge (APC):
This journal operates on an open-access model. An Article Processing Charge (APC) is payable upon acceptance to cover the cost of editorial management, formatting, and open-access hosting.

If an author qualifies for multiple discounts, only the single highest-value concession will be applied. All discounts are mutually exclusive and cannot be combined with any other offer.
Open Access & Licensing:
All published articles are immediately available open access under a Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 licence. Authors retain copyright and are free to deposit their article in any institutional repository, post to academic networking sites, and reuse their work in any way consistent with the licence terms.
